Astrology: A Myth or Truth

Astrology: A Myth or Truth

I don't really remember when I started developing interest in Astrology. But I was that kind of person who would grab the Sunday newspaper, just to see my astrology predictions for that week. But the real interest in astrology started about 15 years back. Me and my husband were going through a lot of turmoil during that period. Someone had a look at our date of birth and said that my husband is going through Sade Shani, and I am going through Kantaka Shani. So, it kind of put some belief into me that there is some truth in this. As I started learning little by little, I developed more interest in it. But I also understood one thing. This is like an ocean, and nobody can make 100% accurate predictions with the knowledge of what they have gained.

Astrology may be a useful tool for timing of events, checking marriage compatibility and understanding general traits, strengths, and weaknesses for those whose religion, culture, and tradition encourages that, but not for all. But there is no sense in saying my life is screwed up or it is great because of a particular planetary position. You can look at twins or triplets and see how different their lives are. It can be argued that their divisional charts are different. But still, most of the yearly predictions are done based on Raashi chart, based on your nakshatra, based on your mahadasha and antardasha.

So, what is this all about?  Astrology is all based on the belief that you had past lives and what your planetary alignment shows is a total summation of your past karmas. But why we have to look into this and worry about it? Often times, in anyone's chart here will be some bad Yogas and some Raja Yogas. In my chart as well, there are both good and bad Yogas. Sometimes it can mean something deeper than just what we can see or understand. I have Yogas such as Guru-Mangala, Tapaswi, Raja/Dharma-Karmadhipati, Lakshmi Yoga and other Raja Yogas due to various placements. A lot of these including Dharma-Karmadhipati yoga are connected to 8th house which means deep mystery. It does not really mean any physical gains or losses in your life especially if you are a Christian who has received anointing with Mooron. That is one point of being strictly prohibited or not dwelling into these predictions in Christian Theology, as it can mentally disturb your life, if it is not positive, and if positive it can sometimes give you unachievable hopes, which both are destructive to your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

I have read an interesting article few years back. I don't remember the author or the article name. But it said, it does not matter whether you are going through sade shani or Ashtama shani or Rahu mahadasa; if you are devotional and keep yourself away from immoral activities, you will enter and come out through all different phases of life successfully. After all, life is all about learning and growing every day towards that moment of liberation or salvation or moksha.

I am someone who went through lots of ups and downs in the past 15 years. But counting on my blessings, I cannot really complain about the roller coaster style ride that I am on. Again, it is evident in my chart, sudden unexpected events both good and bad because of the 8th house planets. However, for Christians or anyone belonging to other religions where this is not encouraged, it may not be appropriate to develop or look into these charts, though quite a lot of people have developed interest due to availability of knowledge through internet. As it says in the creed "one baptism for the remission of debts and forgiveness of sins...", developing unwanted interests can guide them to losing their soul, as this could be their final chance for salvation. It is my 8th house intuition. So, it's not always about what an astrologer predicts or what common man can see. These are things which can be interpreted in 1000 different ways, and you shall never become a prey to these.

When I was in high school, I never had any dreams about travelling. All I wanted was to get a career. But God has taken me to unseen places and gave me a heart to dream. It is just that, things won't go according to my plans. I just have to learn how to live every moment to its fullest. See, how astrology is coming handy. So, in this way astrology is useful to gain a better understating of who you are. It is called esoteric astrology.
